Ty needed to take some photos of some landscapes and trees for a project. The boys and I decided to follow along for the fun and it ended up being a blast. Good thing we brought coats and hats because we ran into a little bit of snow. Up past Elk River lives the largest tree in Idaho, a giant red cedar. It was pretty big. Ty took pictures of the walkway, and design of the park. Who knew that Landscape Architects design stuff for National Parks. I didn't, but they all are. Way cool. I can totally see Ty designing and building some of these preservations someday.
Heading down the path. Just starting.
A more distant shot of the tree. It's no redwood, but it is the biggest tree that I've ever seen!
Ty promised it would be 2 hours at the most. Well our little excursion took us all day. Well worth it. It has been hard getting out of the house lately. We live in the Pacific time zone and we are unfortunately right on the boundary line. That means with the time change, it starts to get dark at 3:30 and it finally dark at like 4:15. So depressing, but hey...Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming up, and we are all excited for the holidays.

That is really early to get dark, wow! I was feeling kind of sad that we don't do daylight savings here, but I guess I really can't complain! :) Awesome pix, I had no idea Idaho had any trees that big. And I can't believe how tall your boys are, and your long hair is SO gorgeous! Miss you!!!
Looks like a fun outing....and that is a big tree! Very cool! And...I LOVE your headband! ;)
that tree is really cool what a fun thing to do as a family.
I didn't realize that any part of Idaho was in the Pacific Time zone. That is so pretty! I love the snow.
GOO! Dark before 4?!? I'll stop whining now...
That is one massive tree as well!
And do you guys get to come home for Christmas?
