Playing with Treston

Kaden's cousin Treston came over to play last week. They had lots of fun. There was a little competition for the piano, but good thing Treston has a mild temper and he just moved on to the next toy when Kaden would throw a fit.

Once again Kaden and his love for any type of hat. This one happens to be a bucket.

Treston playing on the piano and I think Kaden is throwing another bucket around.

I thought this picture was cute. Both boys staring at the truck rather than fighting over the truck.

Kaden and Treston again.

Kaden was so funny. He was trying so hard to stand in the bucket, but he kept falling. Once when he was holding on to the TV he was able to stand. I guess in this picture he is trying to put his feet in the bucket first and then stand up. It didn't work but it is so cool to watch his critical thinking at work.

Last week I took the OB-ACLS (advanced cardiovascular life support) class to renew my certification. It felt good to go over how to run a code. I have been in two codes while working at the hospital and once had to do chest compressions on a newborn. I hope that I will never have to do compressions again, but if I do I feel a little more prepared. The one thing that was different about the class compared to last time I took it, was we were taught how to put an IO in. That is an intra-osseous, an IV that goes into your bone. It looks like a cork screw and you just twist and push this big needle into the bone. Sometimes you can do it with a drill. It was awesome to watch and I hope that I can do at least one before I die. Maybe Ty will let me practice on him. J/K! The patients are usually unconcious when and if they put one in. Good thing!
